Local contract position in Independence, MO (64057) for 13 weeks with varied 8-hour shifts (6:30am – 5:30pm M-F) and rotating every 4th Saturday (8:00am – 12:00pm).

About the role

The Patient Services Representative III-Floater (PSR III) represents the face of our company to patients, drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for lab testing. This role involves direct patient contact, creating an atmosphere of trust while explaining procedures and performing venipuncture in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR III demonstrates leadership behaviors, focuses on process excellence, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Assignments may include doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
  • Verify patient demographic information, including patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm tubes were labeled in their presence and the name on the label is correct.
  • Maintain required records and documentation.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Travel between multiple sites with minimal notice, ensuring punctuality at assigned locations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Minimum two years in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (preferred).
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
  • Commitment to all Policies & Procedures, including dress code, health & safety, and guiding principles.
  • Strong decision-making skills based on established procedures and good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and business acumen.

Pay

$26/hr. – $28/hr. based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
