Phlebotomist II - Lab Associate (Float)

About the Role

A Full-Time Float Lab Associate II – Phlebotomy performs venipunctures and urine collections across multiple locations in the St. Louis area. This role utilizes Laboratory Information Systems to ensure high-quality patient care and customer service. Reliable transportation is required, and the position offers day shifts with no weekends or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, specimen collection, and processing
• Ensure proper specimen handling and maintain specimen integrity
• Interpret physician orders and accurately document tests
• Coordinate tasks such as STAT orders, specimen sorting, and processing
• Provide excellent patient interaction and communication
• Assist with registration, inventory, and clerical duties as needed
• Work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus centers
• Prioritize workload effectively while adhering to laboratory standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years professional phlebotomy experience
• High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree preferred
• Proficiency in blood draw techniques and specimen collection
• Excellent patient communication skills

Qualifications & Certifications

• BLS certification
• Phlebotomy certification
