Position Highlights
Position: Phlebotomist II
Location: Northwest Community Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Part time, 20 hours
Hours: Monday-Friday, 1pm-9:30pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays
Required Travel: Yes
What You Will Do
- Proficiently performs accurate venipuncture and capillary specimen collection for all inpatients and outpatients for all age groups.
- May be responsible for collection of body fluid or other samples including, nasal and throat swabs, and breath samples.
- Operates and utilizes the H.I.S and L.I.S. and other available resources to appropriately address the needs of the lab service areas and their clientele.
- Prepares and assists in the processing of blood and body fluid samples per established guidelines.
- Affixes skills and experience to identify and address problems as they arise and notifies lead/supervisory personnel as needed.
- Aids in inventory management duties as assigned.
- Safeguards that all customer requests for Laboratory services are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Provides phone coverage and understands the importance of professional appearance and behavior in conducting oneself in a customer-oriented manner in accordance with the hospital’s mission.
What You Will Need
- Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred but not required and CPR-BLS certification for Healthcare Provider (AHA) required.
- Experience: One year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Unique or Preferred Skills: Good communication and organization skills, moderate computer skills needed, strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

Pay
$19.31 - $28.00 per hour, determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
