Phlebotomist II
Duties
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Verify patient demographic information / initials including patient signature post-venipuncture to ensure tubes are labeled correctly and the name on the label matches the patient.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirements
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills to include pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

- Must be able to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver license, and a clean driving record, if applicable.
- Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Demonstrate Superior Customer Focus; ability to communicate openly and transparently with peers, supervisors, and patients; ability to accelerate and embrace change; and knowledge of our business.
Training
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Experience
- 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of pediatric phlebotomy experience and understand that pediatric collections are required daily at this location.
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
