Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
About the role
Pride Health is hiring Phlebotomist II to support our client’s medical facility-based in Union City, NJ 07087. This is a 5-month assignment (possibility of extension or conversion) opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization. The Patient Services Representative (PSR II) represents the face of the company to patients who come in for routine health visits or for insights into life-defining health decisions. PSR II draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. PSR II have direct contact with patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. PSR II will demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, sensitivity to confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as business needs dictate. Under the direction of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
- Perform safe, accurate venipuncture and capillary blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric collections
- Conduct clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures
- Prepare, label, verify, and process specimens for laboratory testing
- Verify patient demographics, initials, and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort, trust, and confidence
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with company and regulatory standards
- Perform daily duties accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and confidentiality of patient information
Requirements

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
- 3‑4 years of phlebotomy experience required, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Minimum 1 year in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
- 1+ years customer service in a preferred retail or service environment
- Keyboard/data entry experience
