Phlebotomist - Hermitage Primary Care a Division of Summit Medical Group

About the role

Hermitage Primary Care, a Division of Summit Medical Group, is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist. The practice is currently located in Hermitage and will relocate to Mount Juliet in January 2027.

Responsibilities

• Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood specimens.
• Communicates appropriately with supervisor about concerns and needs pertaining to equipment.
• Performs venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures on patients as appropriate.
• Identifies and labels specimens in an accurate and timely manner.
• Conducts designated laboratory testing.
• Assists in the care of the donor prior to, during, and after the donation.
• Maintains stocked, neat, and clean examination rooms and common work areas on a daily basis.
• Adheres to established policies and procedures including OSHA guidelines and the Corporate Compliance Program.
• Performs duties assigned in a professional manner following established policies and procedures while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to co-workers, management, and the public.
• Performs related duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician, or Administrative staff.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.
• Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities; contributes to continual evaluation of site performance and the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma required; additional vocational or college credits preferred.
• Experience: At least two years of experience required (posting also notes one year experience in summary).
