About the role

The role of a phlebotomist is to collect blood samples from patients for diagnostic testing. This position involves preparing patients for venipuncture, performing venipunctures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout the process.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for venipuncture procedures
• Perform venipuncture procedures accurately and efficiently
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during blood collection
• Handle and transport blood samples to the laboratory
• Adhere to infection control protocols
• Document patient information and procedures in the medical record

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work evenings
• Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Physical stamina for standing and moving throughout the day

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology
• Basic computer skills for electronic health records
