Phlebotomist - Full Time - Evening - SVH

About the role

Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes both on and off site as required. Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations. Performs laboratory support duties to ensure efficient operations. May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes both on and off site as required.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving, etc.) to ensure efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• Plethotomy training.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Six months’ phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work location.
