Phlebotomist - Full Time - Day Shift - SVH

About the role

General Overview: Performs phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks and finger sticks. Provides instruction and/or assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes both on and off site as required.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving, etc.) to ensure efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum High school diploma or GED.
• Plethotomy training.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Six months’ phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Plethotomy training.
• Criminal background clearances (Act 34, Act 33, Act 73).
• Valid driver’s license if required.
