About the role

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will gain diverse experience by working with various patients, team members, and clinics/locations. This role provides skill development and opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. If you enjoy variety, this position is ideal for you. Phlebotomy Service Technicians (PSTs) may be eligible for the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Float Phlebotomists receive an additional $1.00/hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs
• Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or equivalent)
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3+ months of phlebotomy experience
• In lieu of work experience, certification or training must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Must be at least 21 years old

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience

Employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours per week, casual, intern, and temporary employees are eligible for the 401(k) Plan only. Employees on a 7-on/7-off schedule receive all benefits except PTO or FTO.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday, with hours varying between 5:00 AM–6:00 PM
• Occasional Saturdays
