About the role

As a Float Phlebotomist, you will travel to various Labcorp locations in Virginia Beach, VA, gaining diverse experience while working with different patients, team members, and clinics. This role is ideal for those who enjoy variety and seek continuous growth within the organization. Phlebotomy Services Technicians (PSTs) may be eligible for a quarterly performance-based bonus under the PST Incentive Plan. Additionally, this position offers a float incentive of an extra $1.00/hour plus mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs.
• Accurately and timely enter patient information into data systems.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completed Phlebotomy training program, or 6+ months of phlebotomy experience.
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ year of phlebotomy experience.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment with minimal supervision.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.75–$27.69 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Schedule

Various days, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, plus some weekends. Hours vary depending on location.
