About the role

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in the El Paso, TX area (79912). This role provides variety, allowing you to work with diverse patients, team members, and clinics/locations while gaining extensive experience and setting the stage for continuous growth within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other diagnostic needs
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites as needed (reliable transportation required)

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • In lieu of work experience, a phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency is required
  • Ability to cover sites in El Paso, TX, and surrounding areas, including Las Cruces/Roswell, NM (approximately 200+ mile radius)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Must pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital environment
  • 1 or more years of experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric to geriatric)
  • Current or prior LabCorp experience

Pay

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hour plus mileage reimbursement. Phlebotomists may also be eligible for a quarterly incentive bonus program based on performance metrics.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, with hours varying based on coverage needs between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Overtime and rotating weekends may be required as needed.
