Position Summary
Under direct supervision by department leadership, performs phlebotomy collection of whole blood and apheresis products. Delivers an excellent donor experience through warm, professional, and service-oriented interactions. Works cooperatively and is a supportive member of the team/group. Contributes positively to the achievement of team objectives.
Responsibilities
- Performs donor screening (collects donor histories), mini-physical, and phlebotomy.
- Treats donors with customer service excellence, presenting a positive image.
- Responds to customer inquiries, requests and complaints with a timely and complete response and escalates to leader when appropriate.
- Provides a service-centric donor experience by interacting with donors respectfully, compassionately, and professionally.
- May conduct automation (Alyx and/or Trima), including recognizing and responding to automation reactions.
- Recruits and converts donors for automation.
- Contributes to and upholds a positive team culture and employee experience by fostering teamwork, collaborating effectively, maintaining an encouraging environment, and by supporting coworkers through kind and respectful behaviors.
- Maintains product integrity and ensures proper identification of all donors, performs routine maintenance on equipment, and completes department records as needed.
- Observes donors for reactions, provides reaction care and assists other staff in handling reactions if needed.
- Rebooks donors for future donation appointments.
- May be subject to additional background checks as required by sponsor if asked to assist a mobile.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification.
- Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Less than 1 year job-related experience preferred.
- 1-3 years relevant people facing experience preferred.
