About the Role
Join our team as a rotating-shift, PRN Phlebotomist in Tyler, TX. UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system, serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location features a Level 1 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program, and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes over 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities
- Perform specimen collection techniques, including venipuncture, capillary draws, urine collection instruction, and specimen culture collection instruction.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited phlebotomy/medical assistant program with clinicals or previous phlebotomy experience.
- Certification from a nationally recognized agency, such as:
- National Healthcareer Association – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT NHA).
- American Society for Clinical Pathology – Phlebotomy Technician (PBT ASCP).
- American Medical Technologists – Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT AMT).
- National Center for Competency Testing – National Certified Phlebotomy Technician (NCPT NCCT).
- American Certification Agency – Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT ACA).
- Hospital laboratory information system skills and strong customer service skills.
- Experience working in a clinical setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience as a Phlebotomist.
