About the role

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. This role involves direct patient contact, quality blood sample collection, and specimen preparation for lab testing following established practices and procedures.

The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, focuses on process excellence, and maintains sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR I performs daily activities accurately, maintains a safe and professional environment, and handles both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing.

Responsibilities

  • Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
  • Explain procedures to patients and ensure a comfortable and professional experience.
  • Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
  • Maintain required records and documentation accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Provide excellent phlebotomy services, including pediatric and geriatric care.
  • Perform keyboard/data entry tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric care.

Schedule

EST 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with possible Saturday shifts.
