About the role
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients, both for routine health visits and life-defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. With direct patient contact, the PSR I creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The role demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.
- Maintain required records and documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM, with rotational Saturdays 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM.
