About the role

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR I draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information. This role demonstrates leadership behaviors and focuses on process excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment with minimal on-site supervision.
• Utilize excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training preferred).
• Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
