About the Role

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR II performs both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing, ensuring patient information remains confidential and accurate. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or other locations based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
• Maintain a safe and professional environment.
• Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric collections, and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure tubes are labeled correctly in the patient’s presence.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
• Travel and work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime, to cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment highly preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent phlebotomy skills and the ability to make decisions based on established procedures.
• Flexibility to meet staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
• Demonstrated leadership behaviors, process excellence, and sensitivity to confidentiality.
• Commitment to company policies, procedures, and guiding principles.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
