About the role

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the company to patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR I draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and maintains a safe, professional environment under the direction of the area supervisor.

The role involves direct patient contact, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information. The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors while performing forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily activities accurately and on time.
• Draw quality blood samples from patients, including pediatric and geriatric cases.
• Prepare specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
• Maintain required records and documentation.
• Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
• Ensure a safe and professional environment.
• Demonstrate organizational commitment and sensitivity to patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training (e.g., medical assistant or paramedic training) preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric proficiency.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience required.
