About the role
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR I has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner. The PSR I will demonstrate Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR I performs daily activities accurately and on time, maintains a safe and professional environment, and performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. The role also involves maintaining required records and documentation, demonstrating organizational commitment, and promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Responsibilities
- Draw quality blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for lab testing.
- Explain procedures to patients and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
- Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties.
- Maintain required records and documentation accurately.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive company image.
- Work independently with minimal on-site supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience; one or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience required.
Schedule
EST 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM, possible Saturday.
