Phlebotomist

About the role

This is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data and decontamination, and update patient information.
• Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture and other specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate venipuncture techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow physicians' orders accurately.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Verify test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 to 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

Pay

$19.93 Per Hour – $21.36 Per Hour (salary determined by experience and relevant licenses/certifications).

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
