Essential Job Responsibilities And Duties

• Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall service satisfaction
• Conduct routine venipuncture for plasmapheresis and collect donor samples
• Respond and assist with donor reactions during the donation process
• Maintain and monitor collection equipment to facilitate the health and safety of the donors
• Set up, disconnect, and operate the plasmapheresis machine, including troubleshooting, documentation, and evaluation of any message displays
• Disconnect donors by removing the needle from the venipuncture site and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment into a biohazard container
• Maintain proper calibration and maintenance of plasma autopheresis machines, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly maintenance of all equipment in the donor floor area
• Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness in between donors
• Accurately document collection records
• Maintain thorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures, willing to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the future
• Maintain an open line of communication with Management
• Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendors
• Accept performance feedback in a professional manner
• Regular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetings

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum one (1) year work experience preferred
• Licenses or certifications where required by state

Requirements

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Provide a pleasant customer service experience
• Perform basic math calculations
• Basic computer skills
• Reasoning ability to identify, interpret, and apply appropriate information

Physical Requirements

• Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knee
• Manual dexterity to perform all phases of donor plasmapheresis
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time for up to four (4) hours at a time
• Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifty (50) pounds
