Phlebotomist
About the role
Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team at a Patient Service Center (PSC) in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will provide exceptional customer service, perform skilled specimen collections, and be the face of the company. You will have opportunities for continuous growth within the organization. Patient Service Technicians (PSTs) may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Handle administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel to additional sites when needed; reliable transportation required
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency, or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience
Pay
Pay Range: $17.75 - $27.69 per hour. All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
Schedule
9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday - Friday with rotating Saturdays.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
