Responsibilities

• Assist the HarmonyCares Medical Group (HCMG) Physician in delivering primary health care and patient care management in a residential setting.
• Identify the best method for retrieving blood samples and other specimens for laboratory testing, and perform screening procedures.
• Verify test requisitions by comparing information with clinician orders and escalate discrepancies to Leadership.
• Verify patient identification and explain sampling procedures to patients.
• Obtain blood specimens through venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique, following department procedures, and observing isolation protocols.
• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection; maintain daily tallies of collections performed.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
• Adhere to professional standards, institutional policies, and federal, state, and local requirements.
• Take vital signs as needed.
• Label, store, and properly package specimens for delivery to the lab.
• Log patient information for accurate processing and testing in compliance with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) standards.
• Perform all clinical duties while observing OSHA and HIPAA requirements.
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatment (e.g., supply inventory, medical bag, and car).
• Facilitate required Consent Form signatures as needed.
• Attend required meetings and in-services.
• Support the mission, vision, and core values, including delivering compassionate care to patients, families, and team members.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Phlebotomist Certification
• CPR Certification
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to drive up to 150 miles daily in urban and/or rural settings
• Full range of body motion, including handling/lifting patients
• Ability to lift/carry items weighing up to 50 lbs
• Ability to read and understand road maps
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Adept at venipuncture, phlebotomy, and finger sticks
• Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Experience with IT technology such as iPad and GPS
• Strong interpersonal skills and compassion
• Ability to work independently, analyze information, think critically, and problem-solve
• Attention to detail
• Procedural and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Six months of experience in patient care, preferably geriatric care

Pay

Hourly pay range: $22.25 – $24.24. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related considerations.
