Phlebotomist
Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Phlebotomist at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, you will be an integral part of a highly functioning laboratory team dedicated to providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing.
- Collect blood samples and body fluids from patients for laboratory testing including blood cultures and arterial samples for blood gas analysis.
- Register specimens and orders tests in LIS and prepare/label samples for internal or external testing.
- Communicate lab test requests and results to appropriate staff, departments, and/or physicians.
- Collect and document urine drug screens requiring chain of custody and breath alcohol when required.
- Assist with in-services or training as assigned.
- Assist with administrative duties within the laboratory.
Qualifications
- Phlebotomy Certification required.
- One year of phlebotomy experience or equivalent phlebotomy training program.
- Excellent communication/people skills and problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills and filing/clerical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
- Valid driver’s license.
