Phlebotomist
Job Summary
As a Phlebotomist, you will competently collect blood and other patient specimens for diagnostic testing, ensuring comfort and safety. Every day you will identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities

- Identify patients, explain procedures, proficiently perform venipunctures, and accurately label/prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, adhering to safety protocols
- Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture procedures on all age groups as appropriate according to departmental standards in a timely manner
- Obtain correct specimens for tests according to departmental standards
- Responds to STAT, ASAP, Timed and special lab requests (Rapid Response, Trauma, etc...) per departmental standards
- Performs clerical duties including answering the phones, assisting hospital staff within the lab and greeting customers in a polite and professional manner at all times
- Receives and processes samples according to departmental standards
Requirements
- Required High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of CA state approved phlebotomy license program
- One year of acute care experience (includes NICU, Pediatrics, Critical Care Patients) as a Phlebotomist (may consider candidates with less experience if no qualified applicants apply)
- Phlebotomist: CA CPT
- Basic Life Support - BLS through an American Heart Association provider
- Typing, organizational skills, knowledge of computers, ability to accurately enter data follow policy and procedure
- Ability to remain calm and function efficiently during difficult or emergency situations
Preferred
- Associate Degree in related field

Pay Range
$35.15 - $39.42 /hour
