Responsibilities

• Help patients and co-workers perform blood collection and specimen processing, assisting with clerical duties as requested
• Maintain laboratory collection turnaround time and ensure accurate specimen processing
• Practice positive patient identification and follow blood collection procedures
• Perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups, utilizing appropriate collection techniques to obtain quality samples
• Accelerate critical laboratory turnaround times through expert specimen processing
• Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy trays, stations and storage rooms

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Excellent customer service and time management skills
• American Heart Association BLS Provider certification within 90 days

Preferred

• Phlebotomy certificate
• Three (3) months of phlebotomy in an acute care facility
