About the role
Austin Regional Clinic seeks an individual to collect laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, process orders and specimens according to protocol, and maintain compliance and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Collects laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, including patients with infectious diseases.
- Processes laboratory orders and specimens according to protocol.
- Demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Utilizes computer information systems.
- Adheres to organization and governmental standards, rules and regulations.
- Performs clerical duties.
- Promotes professional customer service.
- Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
- Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Phlebotomy class preferred.
- Experience: Completion of phlebotomy class or at least one year of phlebotomy experience required.
Skills
- Knowledge of/familiarity with laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of/familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others’ needs.
- Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals.
- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities.

- Ability to understand, recall, and communicate, factual information.
- Ability to understand, recall, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.

Requirements
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Monday - Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
