Philosophy Professor/Content Developer

About the role

We're looking for Philosophy professors with training in analytic philosophy to bring their expertise in logic, critical thinking, and textual analysis to our high-quality learning materials for the MCAT and other high-stakes exams. Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality educational content with a focus on the Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) section of the MCAT, including:
  • Creating original MCAT-style CARS passages, questions, and comprehensive answer explanations
  • Applying expertise in logic, critical thinking, argument analysis, and close reading to create challenging but fair assessment items
  • Developing additional digital and print materials for the CARS curriculum, such as books, video PowerPoints, and scripts
• Ensure all content aligns with the MCAT CARS blueprint and reflects standardized-examination practices and best practices in instructional design
• Collaborate with editors, illustrators, and fellow content developers to produce accurate, clear, and engaging materials that adhere to UWorld standards
• Incorporate student and internal feedback promptly to keep materials accurate and in line with testing standards
• Collaborate with management and team members to ensure production goals and deadlines are met
• Communicate effectively with quality assurance, customer care, IT, and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve content-related technical issues

Requirements

• Master's degree in Philosophy required; PhD in Philosophy preferred
• Training and expertise in the analytic style of philosophy
• At least 1 year of post-graduate teaching and/or research experience in logic and critical thinking
• Demonstrated skill in writing and reviewing academic or instructional content
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic technology tools (AI expertise is a plus!)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience writing multiple-choice questions or test-preparation materials
• Experience teaching critical reading, logic, argumentation, rhetoric, composition, or interdisciplinary humanities courses
• Background in instructional design or curriculum development
