Job
The Philanthropy Representative I will maximize World Vision’s ministry by developing long-term, effective relationships with individuals and foundations capable of providing $3,000 to $50,000 (or more) in financial resources, with the goal of providing them with a deeper understanding of holistic needs in the world and boldly challenging them to respond sacrificially to those needs through the ministry of World Vision.
Manage and coordinate the integrated regional fundraising efforts for assigned Middle Donors and their potential to integrate with the Major Gifts Program, and Gift Planning. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.
- Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
- Raise a minimum of $400,000 within the first year and a minimum of $700,000 each fiscal year thereafter through private special funding, multi-year commitments, and gift planning.
- Recommend donation of appreciated assets whenever possible.
- Implement account management strategy, utilizing messaging approved by middle donor leadership, to ensure assigned accounts are given the appropriate amount of attention each year.
- Develop long-term relationships through personal interactions with donors on assigned area of the country with a primary emphasis on voice-to-voice interaction and strive to connect donor interests with the WV mission and ministry.
- Engage with high-capacity donors to identify, cultivate and retain major and mega givers for World Vision.
- Partner with Major Reps to actively seek opportunities to grow donor/prospect involvement through events, projects and initiatives.
- Recommend portfolio moves in conjunction with Prospect Development and Major Reps.
- Network through current donors to locate new giving prospects who can make major gifts.
- Work with gift planning staff to set up donor-advised funds, stock gifts, wills, etc.
- Represent WVUS in speaking engagements that are directly related to major gift development and media interviews to spread the word about WV’s domestic and international ministry.
- Attend and participate in job related training programs as assigned.
- Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities.
- Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.
Requirements
Associate degree or equivalent (four years) work experience.
In addition to education or educational equivalent, requires work experience in fundraising or sales; 3 years.
Salary & Benefits
WVUS Pay Grade Level: 222
Estimated hiring range is: $63,600 – $85,900
