Philanthropy Officer, Leadership Annual Giving - Foundation - Full Time 8 hours Days (Non-Union, Exempt)

About the Role

The Philanthropy Officer for Leadership Annual Giving manages and grows a portfolio of individual donors and prospects with the capacity to make philanthropic investments ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. This role focuses on building authentic donor relationships, executing personalized cultivation and stewardship strategies, and securing annual and multi-year commitments through meaningful engagement. The officer partners closely with clinical leaders, volunteers, and foundation colleagues to connect donors to high-impact giving opportunities that advance patient care, programs, and community health initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of leadership donors and prospects with the potential to contribute gifts of $1,000 to $10,000.
• Achieve annual fundraising and engagement metrics established collaboratively with the President of the Foundation, including revenue goals, proposal activity, donor engagement, and growth benchmarks.
• Demonstrate year-over-year growth in leadership giving revenue, leadership donor acquisition and retention, and pipeline strength.
• Contribute to multi-year revenue strategies that support the Foundation’s strategic priorities.
• Develop and actively manage a portfolio of leadership donors and prospects with the capacity to contribute $1,000 to $25,000 in outright or multi-year commitments.
• Create and implement personalized engagement plans for individual donors to ensure long-term philanthropic relationships.
• Utilize the donor database for portfolio management, tracking all activities and communications accurately and promptly.
• Oversee the stewardship of all assigned donors and connect supporters to the impact of their giving.
• Work collaboratively with the Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO), hospital executives, physicians, and board members to engage leadership donors.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to identify and engage potential donors.
• Coordinate targeted donor outreach strategies for patients and families who wish to express gratitude through giving, in partnership with Foundation colleagues.
• Partner with philanthropy colleagues to ensure a cohesive donor journey across all fundraising efforts.
• Cultivate donor participation in signature fundraising events and donor engagement experiences.
• Conduct donor research and provide strategic recommendations for prospective major and planned gift donors.
• Represent the Foundation professionally at internal and external events, meetings, and community activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in philanthropy, business, communications, nonprofit management, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of fundraising experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, or educational setting.
• Experience working in healthcare or hospital philanthropy (preferred).
• Experience managing a Grateful Patient Program or similar healthcare philanthropy initiative (preferred).

Pay

The hourly rate range for this position is $99,507 to $164,559. When extending an offer of employment, factors such as the scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations are taken into account.
