Philanthropy Officer - Foundation - Full Time Exempt

About the role

The Philanthropy Officer will successfully grow and manage a major gift portfolio to meet assigned goals and objectives. They will lead the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors and prospects for fundraising priorities. They will work with assigned leadership and colleagues to identify and qualify prospective donors, make discovery visits, and build a pipeline of potential support.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement gift strategies and solicitations, ensuring accurate gift processing.
• Create and manage individual stewardship plans and develop appropriate engagement opportunities.
• In conjunction with the donor relations team, create written reports and updates for donors and leadership, craft acknowledgment letters, and respond to requests from donors and colleagues.
• Facilitate physician referrals and manage progress reports, providing regular updates.
• Initiate appropriate contact and develop meaningful and effective development events for donors and prospective donors to showcase unique opportunities for support.
• Track progress and results using Blackbaud and follow policies.

• A high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-7 years of fundraising experience in higher education, with preference for candidates with experience in healthcare, academic science, and higher education.
• A Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
