About the role

Protiviti is looking for an Internal Audit & Financial Advisory Senior Consultant to join our growing team. As a Senior Consultant, you will mentor, train, and coach Interns and Consultants while facilitating the successful completion of project work plans. You’ll identify areas of risk and opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen client relationships, and deepen your ability to communicate and network with client personnel and professional associates.

At the direction of Managers, you may accept responsibility for decision-making in areas including establishing project scope and work plans, project staffing, preparation of deliverables, and application of methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Identify areas of business and process risk, and opportunities to improve efficiency, increase performance, and help clients manage risk.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing exceptional experiences.
  • Contribute to project management and team leadership, fostering open communication among engagement team members.
  • Create development opportunities for others and improve team contributions to clients and communities.
  • Work with a diverse portfolio of clients across multiple industries.
  • Leverage AI to enhance personal productivity and internal audit/SOX activities, including planning, fieldwork, and reporting.
  • Develop internal audit deliverables such as process flows, work programs, audit reports, and control summaries.
  • Evaluate, summarize, organize, and interpret data.
  • Communicate risk topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.
  • Supervise teams, including mentoring, oversight, review of work, and coordination across teams.
  • Document findings and summarize recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, or business-related field).
  • 2+ years working in internal audit, consulting, assurance services, risk and control programs, or related field, either in professional services or industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access).
  • Experience with or understanding of:
    • Audit methodologies and internal audit deliverables.
    • Risk and control programs.
    • Business processes such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Revenue, and knowledge of accounting operations or financial frameworks.
    • International Professional Practices Framework, including COSO and PCAOB.
    • Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and methodologies for achieving compliance.
    • The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA’s) code of ethics and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to translate and communicate risk topics and audit issues to client personnel, including executives.
  • Supervisory experience, including mentoring, oversight, and review of work.
  • Versed in leveraging AI to enhance personal productivity and internal audit/SOX activities.

Qualifications

  • Professional Certification such as CPA, CIA, or similar (preferred).

Work Environment

Protiviti practices a hybrid model, combining in-person and remote work. The ratio of remote to in-person requirements varies by client, project, and team. Work may include local or out-of-state travel based on project and client needs.

Pay

Starting salary range: $84,000.00 - $126,000.00 (full-time equivalent). Placement in the range depends on experience, skills, and geographic work location.

Annual bonus target opportunity: 10%. Estimated total cash range: $92,400.00 - $138,600.00.
