Financial Close & Reporting Consultant

About the role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented accounting/finance consultant. This role plays a critical part in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and insights that inform key business decisions. You will work at the intersection of finance, data, and operations—partnering closely with FP&A, accounting, and business stakeholders to analyze cost drivers, investigate variances, and enhance reporting capabilities across a complex and evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform recurring reporting and flux analysis across operating expenses, technical infrastructure costs, lease expenses, payroll, commissions, and other non-revenue cost categories
• Support BD+4 reporting deliverables and close-related reporting activities
• Investigate reporting variances and reconcile underlying data issues
• Utilize SQL and reporting tools to troubleshoot data discrepancies and support ad hoc analysis
• Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to understand cost drivers and validate explanations for variances
• Support reporting tied to cost allocations, Cost of Sales (COS), and infrastructure-related expenses
• Participate in recurring flux review meetings and help develop reporting insights and recommendations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and reporting efficiencies

Requirements

• Financial reporting, management reporting, controllership, or operational accounting experience
• Strong P&L flux analysis experience
• Familiarity with cost allocations, OPEX reporting, or infrastructure-related cost analysis
• Working knowledge of ASC 842 and ASC 606 concepts as they relate to financial reporting and cost analysis
• SQL proficiency for data investigation and ad hoc reporting
• Experience working with large datasets and complex reporting environments
• SAP experience is helpful but not required
• SEC reporting exposure is a plus but not required

Pay

W2 hourly pay rate: $75-85/hr
