About the role
The University of Oslo seeks PhD research fellows in human geography. There are 1-2 vacant positions at the Department of Sociology and Human Geography for a period of three years without compulsory work or four years with 25% compulsory work (primarily teaching).
Responsibilities
- Pursue independent research under supervision, as outlined in the submitted project proposals.
- Contribute to the development of human geography at the department.
- Participate in the Faculty of Social Sciences' organised research education programme (PhD programme).
- Complete a doctorate in human geography.
Requirements
Residence in Norway is expected, but PhD fellows are also encouraged to spend time abroad during the fellowship period.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in human geography or equivalent.
- Two years (120 ECTS) at the master’s level.
- Average grades of A or B in the master’s degree.
- English language proficiency: TOEFL with a minimum result of 550 on the Paper-based Test (PBT), or 80 on the Internet-Based Test (iBT); ORIELTS with the result 6.0; or equivalent.
