About the role

We invite applications for a 4-year PhD position focused on the Epoch of Reionisation at the Department of Astronomy at the University of Geneva. The successful applicant will work on novel observational studies of the intergalactic medium at z>5 and the nature of the sources of reionisation in a new group led by Romain Meyer.

The team will initially be composed of one postdoctoral researcher and two PhD students. The PhD position will leverage new JWST spectroscopy of galaxies in deep extragalactic fields and/or VLT observations from MUSE and the new-generation MOONS instruments. The candidate will be part of international JWST collaborations (COSMOS-3D, FRESCO, EREBUS, JWST-OutThere) and the MOONS Consortium.

The position is fully funded for 4 years. Computer equipment, travel funding, and access to local HPC infrastructure are included.
