Pharmacy Technician Trainee - Kennedy Township Giant Eagle
Job Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and acknowledge them with compassion and a smile.
- Model excellent patient care by respecting, engaging, and enthusiastically meeting or exceeding all patient needs.
- Process orders in person and by phone, direct patients to products and merchandise, and refer appropriate questions to the pharmacist.
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment to ensure compliance with company and government requirements.
- Aid team members with tasks to ensure departmental efficiency.
- Use the pharmacy computer to complete actions necessary for maximizing efficiency and providing optimal patient care, including searching for patients and profiles, determining dates of fill and pick-up, quoting cash prices, checking on-hand counts, and entering invoices.
- Aid in improving outcomes through knowledge of service and business metrics.
- Participate in executing company initiatives and programs.
- Complete required training program and accompanying exams.
- Follow all company, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations, including HIPAA and Pseudoephedrine sales.
- Finalize sales using cash register according to established procedures.
- Transcribe prescription data accurately to generate custom labels for customers.
- Maintain proper inventory levels by ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating drugs and other supplies according to company policy and procedure.
- Answer telephones politely and promptly, ensuring accurate information exchange and customer satisfaction.
- Resolve customer questions and concerns by communicating effectively with the customer and management team and support staff.
- File written prescriptions daily.

Requirements
- Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
- Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification or Licensing Required: Eligible to obtain registration as pharmacy technician with the applicable state board of pharmacy
- Lifting Requirement: Up to 25 pounds
- Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
