Job Description
- Serves as the hiring manager for new technicians and select support staff, including coordination of orientation and onboarding of new team members.
- Conducts 90-day, annual performance reviews, and goal setting for assigned direct reports.
- Creates and reviews the technician schedule.
- Organizes and leads team meetings with direct reports.
- Aids in developing and maintaining standards of care, along with policies and procedures in conjunction with Pharmacy Administration.
- Aids in compliance of all regulatory standards, including USP, and compliance.
- Participates in formal and informal educational programs, such as classes, in-services, continuing education, and other major educational programs, to meet staff and organizational needs.
- Participates in pharmacy department committees as deemed appropriate by Pharmacy Administration.
Education Requirement
As required by listed licensure and/or certification requirement.
Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
Licensure Requirement
Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician), required.
Certification Requirement
Certified as a pharmacy technician or documented passing score on certification exam prior to start date (PTCB, ExCPT), required.
Skills
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills in pharmacy work environment.
Must demonstrate ongoing Inpatient Pharmacy Tech I competencies, knowledge, and skills.
Experience
Three years’ experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital setting or outpatient setting, required.
