Pharmacy Technician Specialist Outpatient - Home Infusion - Per Diem
About the role
The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Specialist is responsible for areas of specialty that include: Category 2 CSPs, Technician Training, IV Order Management, Supply Room Maintenance, Controlled Substance and Infusion Pump Tracking and Specialty Infusion Pharmacy areas. The Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Specialist, in conjunction with the Outpatient Pharmacy Manager of the designated area, is responsible for their area of specialty which includes training, program development, writing procedures, and continual analysis of current processes. These areas are all critical result areas that frequently involve very expensive items, automated technology and rigid quality control. Interpretation and problem solving skills are frequently used as well as precise manufacturing skills. Accurate record keeping and communication skills are essential.

Requirements
Education:
- High School / GED plus one year of post high school education or related work experience
- Self study or formal Technician Training to become Nationally Certified
- Maintain Pharmacy Technician Registration/License with the State of Vermont Board of Pharmacy
- Maintain National Certification
Experience:
- 3‑5 years experience as a Senior Pharmacy Technician (preferred)
- Sterile Compounding experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated competence in all areas of Pharmacy Technician Trainee, Pharmacy Technician Certified and Senior Pharmacy Technician
Note: This role will be focused on Sterile Compounding and Inventory/Equipment Management in the Home Infusion Pharmacy.
