Essential Responsibilities / Duties

• Provide the highest level of customer service, whether it is answering calls or warmly greeting patients in person.
• Assist with medication preparation, ensuring everything is all right.
• Prepare the product for use, which includes packaging, repacking, compounding, bar-coding, or any other necessary manipulation.
• Ensure medication preparation is carried out in strict compliance with laws, regulations, accreditation standards, and our client's policies and procedures. Participate in a double-check system for all preparations.
• Deliver the product to patient care areas while upholding its integrity, security, and confidentiality.
• Maintain proficiency and comfort with various technology such as automated dispensing machines (i.e.: Parat Amax, TCG, etc.), robotics, barcoding systems (e.g., Verify), computer applications, and other pharmacy and general technology solutions.
• Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and comply with all accreditation standards.
• Stay updated on all policies and procedures of the department and the organization, ensuring strict adherence.
• Help with inventory control, encompassing receiving, stocking, and replenishment of stock. Receive various products, such as those from wholesalers and direct shipments, and stock them according to legal storage requirements and the client's policy. Diligently check all products to ensure they are within their use-by date and suitable for use, following processes developed by department leadership. Maintain the required level of competency to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.

Education

• A high school diploma or GED required, higher level education preferred.
• An active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license with the Board of Pharmacy in the respective state of applicant required.
• Active National Certification verified by PTCB or ExCPT is preferred.

Experience

• 1+ years of direct pharmacy-related experience required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Effective interpersonal skills to interact appropriately with patients, families/visitors, colleagues, and others.
• Ability to speak the English language, read, interpret, and follow complicated verbal and written instruction with precision, accuracy, and dependability.
• Additional language skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is helpful.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize essential tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to detail, including being able to perform general mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, ratios & proportions).
• Basic computer proficiency inclusive of the ability to access, enter, and interpret computerized data/information.

Special Working Conditions

• Clearway Health Specialty Pharmacies, serving patients in hospitals, health systems, and communities, may require employees at client sites to work on company-recognized holidays, with eligibility for holiday pay.
