About the role

The Pharmacy Technician assists in manipulative and non-discretionary functions of the practice of pharmacy. Responsibilities include ordering supplies, verifying items received, entering customer information, answering and screening calls, and performing extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in ordering of supplies from wholesalers and direct accounts, and verifies items received against invoices
  • Stores items received and maintains stock levels, dating and initialing invoices or packing slips upon receipt
  • Enters customer's medication and billing information into the computer system
  • Answers and screens telephone calls and forwards as needed
  • Performs extemporaneous compounding under pharmacist supervision

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Washington State Department of Health
  • Successful completion of a National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program (preferred)
  • If required to drive a MHS vehicle, a valid driver’s license is required
  • Retail pharmacy experience (retail health only)

Pay and Benefits

We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental, and retirement benefits, and paid time off. The pay scale is $27.36 - $39.38 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, experience, and certification(s) and/or education. For positions associated with a union contract, pay will reflect the appropriate step on the pay scale based on years of experience.
