Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

Responsibilities

• Assists the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy.
• Uses pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Reports and adheres to policies regarding prescription errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Registers all related sales on assigned cash register, collects and handles cash as required.
• Processes manual claims for third-party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
• Supports inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
• Aids in the administration of clinical services, including collecting and properly labeling blood/urine samples from patients and coordinating with healthcare providers.
• Maintains relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other health care providers.
• Ensures the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include fluency in English, willingness to work flexible hours, and a desire to learn and grow.
• Preferred qualifications include six months of retail experience, prior Walgreens experience, good math and computer skills, and PTCB certification.
