About the role
The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II fills and dispenses oral and IV medications, trims patient orders, and maintains the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).
Responsibilities
- Fills and dispenses unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments.
- Triage patient orders and ensure accuracy in the automated dispensing system (ADS).
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or GED.
- OR Oregon Pharmacy Technician license upon hire.
- Minimum of one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification - OR - 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
- Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable for role.
- Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
