About the role
The successful candidate will provide integrated support to patients and pharmacists by delivering a full continuum of medication adherence support. We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter for an exciting career path with a fast-growing company in specialty pharmacy management services.
Compensation
- Hourly range: $28.00 – $36.00 (actual rate depends on experience, seniority, geographic location, and other factors permitted by law)
- Sign-on bonus: $5,000
Responsibilities
- Interpret and enter prescriptions
- Clarify prescription orders with pharmacist and/or clinician as appropriate
- Label and fill prescriptions for the pharmacist to verify
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations
- Identify medications requiring special storage and/or handling (e.g., hazardous or refrigerated medications)
- Assemble supplies for select medications (sharps containers, needles/syringes, alcohol swabs, Band-Aids)
- Prepare medication for delivery to patients and departments
- Answer, resolve, and triage inbound inquiries
- Provide outbound therapy/medication adherence check-ups
- Secure refill prescriptions
- Resolve insurance-related issues and assist patients with financial assistance
- Maintain pharmacy inventory, including drug ordering and receiving
- Communicate directly with patients over the phone to assist with medication awareness
- Achieve operational objectives by inputting data, adjudicating test claims, and preparing action plans
- Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
- Apply observations and recommendations to operational issues to improve productivity, quality, and customer-service standards
- Identify trends, resolve problems, recommend improvements, and implement change
- Actively participate in process improvement initiatives
- Act as a value-added business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization
- Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, networks, and organizations
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Nationally certified and registered as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT or equivalent) with the State of employment
- Commitment to obtain required certification within a mutually agreed timeframe if not already certified
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician (5+ years preferred)
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong phone skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Ability to quickly learn other database programs and extract relevant information
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Solid computer skills, including data entry and navigating web-based platforms
- Discretion and confidentiality essential due to handling of sensitive and private data
