Responsibilities
- Fill patient prescriptions to include data entry, insurance billing, and appropriate labeling and packaging, for pharmacist verification.
- Aid the pharmacist in providing timely, efficient, cost-effective, and appropriate pharmaceutical care to the patient.
- Make medication credit and charge adjustments via the computer system.
- Ensure any extra medication is returned to stock.
- Reorder medications in short supply to restock the pharmacy.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Answer telephone and greet personnel coming into the pharmacy in a courteous and friendly manner.
- Provide necessary information regarding patient drug orders.
- Refer problems and drug information inquiries to the pharmacist as required.
- Orient and train new pharmacy personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous Outpatient pharmacy experience preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required.
- Applicants enrolled or a graduate of either a 2-Year Associates Program or 4-Year Bachelor Program in Health Sciences Majors are encouraged to apply and will be required to achieve PTCB Certification in 1-Year of Employment.
Qualifications
- Flexible scheduling required.
- Ability to work at all three Retail Outpatient Pharmacy Department sites.
- Required to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Pay
Hourly Pay Range: $19.84 - $29.76
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
