Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician at Michigan Medicine, you will work within a highly collaborative team that includes Pharmacists, Technicians, and other medical professionals. We provide all of our Pharmacy Technicians with a comprehensive, hands-on training to ensure you feel confident in performing your day-to-day responsibilities. Once training is complete, you will be able to prepare sterile IV products, restock automated dispensing cabinets, and dispense solid oral dosage forms for patients visiting the various infusion sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform activities relating to or supporting the preparation, compounding, processing, and delivery of medications and pharmaceutical supplies under the supervision of a pharmacist, supervisor or resident.
- Aid in the retrieval/filing of medication orders from electronic systems.
- Aid in general pharmacy cleaning/maintenance/stocking.
- Prepare investigational drugs per research protocols.
- Triage telephone inquiries.
- Aid in the training of staff.
Requirements
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activity: lifting, pulling, bending, manual dexterity movements.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize with accuracy and dependability: Fluency in reading, writing and speaking English.
- Pharmacy Technician Intermediate Graduation from high school or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current licensure that meets the State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician licensing requirements. This includes: A temporary pharmacy technician license (valid for 1 year and is non-renewable) or a full pharmacy technician license upon hire, or a full pharmacy technician license before the temporary license expires.
- Proficient communication, computer and basic mathematic skills.

Schedule
This is a full-time position, Evening shift. Weekends also must be worked on a rotational basis. Rotation among work locations may occur. The locations for which employee rotate through include: Brighton Center for Specialty Care, Children's and Women's Infusion Center, University Hospital, East Ann Arbor Health Center, Northville Health Center, Taubman Center, Rogel Cancer Center, West Ann Arbor Health Center.
