About the role
Full-time position (40 hours/week) with rotating evening shifts (11am - 9:30pm, 12pm - 10:30pm), Monday through Friday. 10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week, with rotating third weekends and holidays.
Responsibilities
- Assist in collecting home medication history of patients being admitted to the hospital using resources to identify recent outpatient medication dispenses.
- Conduct patient interviews and contact pharmacies to accurately document collected information.
- Work primarily in the Emergency Department but may also include inpatient floors.
- Operate under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (required).
- Current license as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Illinois (required).
- One of the following must be met:
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification, or must obtain CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) within 90 days of hire.
- Successfully passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) examination pending certification.
- Current Pharmacy Technician license with “Student” designation issued by the State of Illinois.
