About the role
The Pharmacy Technician – Materials Coordinator supports pharmacy supply chain and inventory operations for Cleveland Clinic facilities across Ohio, including Main Campus, Family Health Centers, physician offices, and other care locations. Based within the centralized pharmacy warehouse, this role plays a critical part in ensuring the timely receipt, management, and distribution of medications and supplies throughout the health system.
Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous supplies are maintained with little or no interruption.
- Implement, manage, and maintain inventory systems to order, control, expedite, and inventory supplies to enhance the fiscal management of the department.
- Monitor reports and available publications for insight into shortages and determine appropriate substitute items.
- Provide information to technicians while carrying out inventory control function.
- Maintain the proper and appropriate professional and ethical relationship with vendor representatives and conduct business according to established principles and guidelines.
Requirements
- Achieve a minimum of an Associate's degree or high school diploma/GED and three years of experience in a similar role.
- Work history of using a computer.
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR the National HealthCareer Association (NHA).
- AND it is required to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician Trainee. If certified but current status with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) is Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee it is required to update registration status to a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the OBOP within six months of hire.
Qualifications
- Strong background in inventory management.
- At least 3 years of pharmacy technician or pharmacy inventory management experience.
Skills
- Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
- Ability to walk to various locations throughout the health system to attend meetings.
- Normal or corrected vision and ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person.
- Own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.
