Job Title: Pharmacy Technician (Inpatient) Job Description A pharmacy technician assists pharmacists in various support activities and procedures involved in dispensing medical prescriptions. They gather, input, and double-check prescription, refill, and patient information, as well as receive and organize incoming supplies. Additionally, they might prepare labels and routine prepacked orders, and potentially handle certain clerical tasks related to the department. Responsibilities Assist pharmacists in dispensing medical prescriptions.Gather, input, and verify prescription, refill, and patient information.Receive and organize incoming supplies.Prepare labels and routine prepacked orders.Rotate through different stations such as register, filling, input, insurance/prior authorizations, and call center.Interact with a diverse patient population including transplant, sickle cell, pediatrics, internal medicine, and employee medications.Dispense compounds, though no compounding is required. Essential Skills Pharmacy technician certification (CPhT).Pharmacy technician license and certificate - PTCB.1-2 years of pharmacy technician experience.Inpatient and outpatient experience.Experience with inventory, data entry, insurance, and prior authorization processes.SC State license with Board of Pharmacy (BOP).Good communication and customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in retail pharmacy is beneficial.Background in customer service or related fields is advantageous.Ability to take initiative and work diligently.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Work Environment Work in an inpatient pharmacy within a hospital setting. Be part of a team of 50, including pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and pharmacy technicians. This is a fast-paced environment where technicians are on their feet all day and must be comfortable interacting with patients face-to-face. The pharmacy operates with shift hours including morning (7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.), evening (2 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), and midnight (8:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.). Employees must have availability for some evening shifts and work every other weekend, with rotating day and evening shifts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Charleston, SC. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
