Pharmacy Technician Informatics - Pharmacy OP

Overview

Pursuant to the Navajo Preference in Employment Act, applicants who meet the necessary qualifications for this position and (1) are enrolled members of the Navajo Nation, Hopi Tribe, or San Juan Southern Paiute Tribe will be given preference in hiring and employment for this position. Applicants who are legally married to enrolled members of these tribes and meet residency requirements will receive secondary preference, and those enrolled in other federally-recognized American Indian Tribes will receive tertiary preference.

Qualifications

• Necessary Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED Certification
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Licensure in any state or territory of the United States
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

• Experience:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting
  • At least one (1) year of experience in data entry and maintenance with electronic medical records and/or pharmacy software programs

• Other Skills and Abilities:

  • A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers
  • Completion of and above-satisfactory scores on all job interviews
  • Successful completion of and positive results from all background and reference checks
  • Submission of all required employment-related documents, applications, resumes, references, and other required information

Mental and Physical Effort

• Frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and maintaining balance
• Frequent ability to hear normal speech, and occasional use of far vision, depth perception, ability to see fine details, hear overhead pages and telephone use

Responsibilities

• Essential Functions:

  • Participation in management of Pharmacy software programs including new implementations, ongoing operations, and outcome analysis
  • Maintenance of various pharmacy software databases, electronic health records and other software and automation systems
  • Investigate informatics problems, questions or issues to find resolutions or answers for other staff
  • Aid in training staff on pharmacy informatics systems and processes as needed
  • Aid in maintaining or utilizing interfaces between pharmacy software systems as well as external systems
  • Aid in projects or initiatives to improve pharmacy safety and efficiency through informatics systems
  • Assure the high quality, accuracy, standardization and validity of both source data and results under the supervision of the Pharmacist Informaticist
  • Support, validate, and extract data from various data sources, including databases and data systems for reporting and analysis purposes
  • Work collaboratively across a variety of subject matters including but not limited to the following: Pharmacy Management, Account Management, Network Management, Contracting, Pricing, Finance
  • Ensure proper PPE is worn at all times while on duty including but not limited to, face mask, gloves, gown, isolation gown, NIOSH-approved N95 filtering facepiece respirator or higher, if available), and eye or face shield
  • Complete all donning and doffing tasks in a safe acceptable method and discard of used PPE accordingly
